How to get there:
Driving from Amaya to Jimma, this is a nice side trip
from the village of Dedo. The road leading up this broad ridge is about
20 kilometer and in good condition. One may park near some local huts
at location N07.43750, E036.76927, elevation near 2850 meter.
Route:
There are several trails that lead uphill towards this summit.
A track showing 2 possible routes is posted on Peakbagger.
The ascent is about 200 meter and may easily be done in about
30 minutes. There is a rather
strange summit structure. Comments:
I quickly noticed a young boy and we asked him if he wanted
to hike with me to the summit. Soon, we were on our way. We made a slightly
longer route of ascent than a direct line, but this route was quite nice.
The hike took about 30 minutes. We took a 10 minute
break on the summit before
descending a slightly more direct route in about 20 minutes.
