How to get there:
First, drive to location N36.55895, E29.95707, this is a small road fork
right next to a small bridge a short distance from the main highway. One may
for example drive here from the city of Antalya.
Next, take the left road (of these 2), the one going most uphill. This is the
beginning of a pretty nice forest road. Continue until location N36.56746, E29.92479.
There are several roads forking here, turn 90 degrees left, this is the final
part of the access drive. Continue until a new multi-way fork at
location N36.55103, E29.92207, elevation a bit above 1600 meter. You will see a
gate on the road that continues uphill (it was not locked when I was there). Park
of the road at this location.
The remaining distance on the road is so short
that it is not worth the trouble to continue.
Route description:
Walk up the road and pass the gate. Continue until you are below an open slope extending
uphill. Go directly uphill, traverse left higher up to reach a distinct ridge.
Follow this ridge (right) until a small, flat plateau. From here, one may continue
(more steeply) directly uphill, or go more left (slightly easier slope), then right
to gain the ridge above. Follow this ridge right. Higher up, you may continue on
the ridge or traverse left into a small valley, then follow this uphill.
Either way, it is an easy climb
to the summit marked with a cairn. Comments:
A fairly long drive from our hotel in Göcek. I had no idea about this
forest road, so very happy when it turned out to be ok. I left my car at 1150 and
reached the summit at 1330, so 1:40 up. Good views and a nice summit cairn.
I enjoyed the scenery about 10 minutes and headed down to my car in 1:20.
A good drive back - arriving at 1800, time for a swim, then a glas of wine before heading
out for dinner.
