How to get there:
The trailhead and parking is at the col named Collado de Agua. This is at location N37.73434, W003.47329, elevation about 1760 meter.
One may drive to this col from the north side or from the south side. The road has several rough spots and a high clearance vehicle is needed. A 4WD would be preferable. The road is much shorter from the south side, here the final road forks uphill at location N37.32061, W003.45740.
See here For a quick summary of the peaks climbed on this trip.
Route::
Follow the obvious vehicle track that runs uphill towards the peak. This track ends near some big rocks. Continue along some vague trails traversing uphill to your left to reach the obvious sort of wide gully with scree that narrows uphill towards the summit. Follow climber's trails here until very high up where progress looks harder. Exit left (easy) and complete the ascent on the left side.
Comments:
After climbing Cerro Magina, I decided that I had time for this bonus peak on my way back to Granada. Google took me on the road to the Collado de Agua from the north side. This road is certainly best to drive with a 4WD, however, my medium clearance 2WD (city-SUV), made it without much difficulty.
I parked at the col at 1700. The climb took about 25 minutes each way. A nice little summit with a pretty good route. I climbed it with my running shoes, the upper part would have been nicer using boots.
