How to get there:

Route description:
From the trailhead, a good trail first contours in the terrain, then descends a bit in order to cross a small creek. Next, a fairly gentle uphill will get you to the base of a very significant slope. The route ascends pretty much straight uphill, slightly steepish and with quite a few smaller rocks. This is never difficult, but steep enough to earn a (YDS) class 2+ rating. On top, the trail continues along a ridge with some minor bumps. In front you will see a good sized mountain. This is actually a false summit, the route climbs across its top, then descends on the far side. At this point, the true summit is directly in front and the trail completes the ascent to reach a small summit sign.

Comments:
This peak, unfortunately, has established quite some complex regulations and red tape that may pose a problem for tourists, in particular tourists from outside of Brazil.
I was able to track down and establish Whatsapp with Marina, she works for Ruha Ecotour. The whatsapp number was +55(35)999054499. She spoke/wrote English and was very helpful. Their rules stipulates that every hiker must carry a metal reflecting (keep warm) blanket, a special container for shit, a flashlight and a whistle plus ID papers. I agreed with her that we could borrow just a few of these items (at no charge). Before getting to this stage one need to register at their web-site, if successful, the web site will then send you an email. The payment (Brazilian 39 in 2026) was an additional problem, their system only accepts payment from credit cards issued by Brazilian banks. I finally got her to agree that we just pay in cash at the park gate.
