How to get there:
The approach to this peak is a bit complicated. I investigated possible access from the south, but the possible roads were blocked by closed gates. Thus, it seems the best approach is from the small village of Torres on the north side of the mountain. Drive up the switch-backs on the upper side of town, then leave the main Hwy. forking right, at location N37.77334, W3.49842. Keep left at forks, in particular at the sharp left turn near location N37.74923, W3.50563. Also left just after dropping into a small valley where you cross a small creek. Park at location N37.73173, W3.48205, elevation near 1715 meter. A trail marked with cairns starts here.

Route::
Head uphill, the trail may be hard to see in the beginning, however, you will find cairns and the more distinct trail higher up. This trail will take you to the main crest at a col with a pole with trail signs. Turn left and follow the trail to the summit, you will pass a false summit shortly before arrival.
Comments:
I drove from Granada and my plan was to find a good trailhead on the south side of this peak. I drove a few smaller side roads, but they all ended early with closed gates. It may be possible to hike from this side, but then with a substantial part along forest roads, also more vertical than ideal.
After "wasting" hours on this, I decided to drive around and use the same trail access as reported by Rob W. This took quite a bit of additional time with Google leading me into unwanted trouble in the town of Mancha Real. I finally got onto the forest road above Torres. There is a sign indicating restricted access, however hard to say if this is currently in effect. I drove past the trailhead (by mistake) and parked just across a cattle guard near the highest point of the road.
I left at 1240, 4 hours after leaving Granada. Traversing right, I soon hit the cairned trail and followed it to the summit, arriving after 55 minutes. The weather was mixed, clouds and a bit of fog. I noticed many mountain animals on the upper part of the mountain. Returning in about 50 minutes, this climb is pretty easy once you get to the trailhead.
Despite a late start, I decided to also visit Pena de la Cruz on my way back.
