How to get there:
This mountain is located about 115 kilometer directly south of Bilbao.
There is a paved road that serves a ski area at location 42.25675, -2.971111.
First, drive there. As you turn right (there is a one-way driviong area) when
arriving, turn right again onto a dirt road. This road is in pretty good condition, it may
be driven with an ordinary car.
Continue along this road until location N42.23577, W002.98603, elevation about 1900 meter.
This is shortly before a sharp left curve on the road. A trail starts here. You may park on the
side of the road.
An alternative trailhead with a bigger trail is located about 2 kilometer more along the road.
This trail is only about 600 meter longer and has perhaps 50 meter less vertical gain.
See here For a quick summary of the peaks climbed on this trip.
Route::
Follow the cairned trail uphill until it merges with the bigger trail coming from the
alternative trailhead (see above). What remains is a short and easy walk to the summit.
The summit has a few different cairns and symbols.
Comments:
We did this peak while driving from Leon to the Pyrenees. A good strech of legs and an easy Ribu peak.
I left at 1150 and arrived at the summit after 35 minutes. The weather was characterized by drifting clouds.
My return hike took only 20 minutes.
