How to get there:
The small town Bejar is located at the foot of the mountain on the north side,
This town is served by an excellent 4-lane Hwy. going north to Salamanca.
From Bejar, take the nice, paved mountain road that serves an excellent
trailhead at about 1860 meter of elevation. The road ends in a big parking are.
This location is N40.33520, W005.73229.

Route::
There are two routes, both approximately equal in length.
A signed trail exits (uphill right) from near the end of the
parking area. This trail may be followed (go left, uphill) at a couple
of junctions, to the summit. The route is essentially an ascending
traverse from the parking area to the summit.
The other alternative is to take a cairned trail that starts from
the parking area (a bit closer to the end of the paved road). This trail
ascends more directly to the main crest above. The trail is a bit rough
due to loose rocks most of the way up. From the crest, the trail is quite
nice as it runs pretty much on top of the hill, with a final more rocky
zig-zag to gain the highest summit. Comments:
I drove from Hacienda Zorita, near Salamanca, after breakfast. Quite an
easy drive, arriving at the trailhead around 1000.
I prepared and changed into hiking clothes, then left shortly after
1015. I took the signed trail ascending right.
This trail climbs gradually and has some pretty sections.
It worked out quite
nicely arriving at the summit by 1200 noon. It was windy, but otherwise
a very nice day. I rested aboput 15 minutes, finding shelter behind
some rocks near the summit. I decided to return along the main crest, making a
circular trip. This also worked well, arrivng at the car at 1350.
