How to get there:
This mountain (and ski area) is about 50 kilometer south
of the city Denizli, the drive from there is 92 kilometer.
The access road starts in the town Medet, location N37.51169, E29.01763.
The trailhead is essentially the parking area for the ski area.
This is at location N37.31821, E029.18981, elevaation near 1900 meter.
Route description:
Follow the service road that runs up to the highest lift on the mountain.
Boz Dag is the distinct summit that you see up left when viewing from the parking area.
Above the lift, just follow the gentle slope uphill to the summit. Comments:
I arrived around 1200 and immediately noticed that there were
several persons doing maintenance work in preparation for what
is likely a pretty short season.
Friendly people, but they kept repeating that the site was closed, planned
opening in January. I tried explaining that I just wanted to walk up
to the summit. No, not possible. Hmm, trouble seemed imminent. They spoke
no English, a few sentences being translated by their mobile phone app.
Finally, a man appeared that spoke at least a few words of English.
I explained my purpose, he was not too happy, claiming that it was indeed very
dangerous.
OK, what now? I showed him my WEB page with thousands of peaks climbed. I told
him I was a mountaineering guide, very experienced. OK, he accepted this, then
said that if I stayed on the (service) roads and nowhere else, I could do the hike.
I said thank you and started hiking before anybody could change their mind. Of course,
no road above the highest lift, but clearly, this was understood? I arrived
at the summit 45 minutes after leaving.
Good views, but a bit of haze. I left
after 5 minutes and walked down in 40.
