How to get there:
This mountain is the highest point of a local ski area called Monte Zoncolan.
The place is also well known as a big hill to climb for cycling. Giro Italia will
sometimes include this climb. Locate the village Ovaro. A narrow road climbs about
1200 meter to reach the parking at location N46.50185, E 012.92695, about 1735 meter of elevation.
This is the trailhead.
The access road is narrow with many blind curves. Drivers should be
extremely careful, in particular, be aware of bicycles as the road
is quite popular to train/practice.
Route::
Follow the service road for the ski area or a trail that runs on its right side when facing the
mountain.
Comments:
I visited this peak with my wife Heidi.
We had a pleasant walk, about 40 minutes to reach the summit.
After a brief rest with views all around, we returned to the
car in about 30 minutes. We next walked down the hill to
the rifugio named Tamai in order to buy something to drink.
