How to get there:
This mountain is located near Mongstad, north of Knarvik.
Drive north towards Mongstad from Knarvik, turn right at Hellestveit.
The trailhead and
a small area for parking is on your left, 250 meter
after the turn-off. This location is N60.77990, E5.07304, elevation 44 meter.
Route:
A pretty large trail will get you to Hellestveitnova. From here, continue about
550 meter north-west. Try to follow trails and fairly easy terrain in the forest.
The final uphill is an unavoidable bushwalk.
There is a small, more open area at the summit.
Comments/TR:
This hill was "discovered" as a hill with more than 100 meter prominence
in November 2024, when all peaks in Norway were computed and entered into
Peakbagger. It seemed reasonable to make a short excursion and pay a visit.
After a nice drive from Bergen, I started out along the big trail
to Hellestveitnova. From there, I lost both trails and my sense of direction.
Thus, the final part of this hike was quite confused, but I did end up in
a pretty bad bushwack at the very end.
