How to get there:
This hill is locted on the island Halsenøy. Travel from Bergen on E-16 to the traffic circle at
Trengereid, go right onto Hwy. 7 towards Norheimsund. In the traffic circle just after exiting
the long tunnel leaving Samanger, go right towards Gjermundshamn and take the ferry across to
Årsnes. About 1.5 hours drive from Bergen. On the other side, go south (right) passing through
Rosendal and onwards along the coast to Sunde just south of Husnes, where a 4 kilometer tunnel connects
you to the island. On the island, fork left after about 1.5 kilometer and drive the (narrow) road
that runs near the north-east side of the island to Djupevika. Find parking near location
N59.76434, E005.83598, elevation about 55 meter. A tractor road forks uphill here.
Route:
Follow the tractor road. Take the next right fork and continue to the next fork.
From here you may continue straight and follow a trail that forks right, or take
the right fork and leave the tractor road going left when near a local col.
Both routes work well. They merge before
reaching the small summit area. Comments:
I did this trip with my friend Harald. After Landåsen,
we drove to the trailhead and left around 1120. About 40 minutes to the summit.
We were back at the car around 1240, now heading for Toftåsen.
