How to get there:
From Bergen, drive E-16 towards Voss, fork right onto Hwy. 7 in
the traffic circle at Trengereid. Continue past the innermost part of the Samanger fjord.
A long tunnel will get you to a new traffic circle where Hwy. 48 forks right towards
Eikelandsosen. Drive only a short stretch, then turn right before the tunnel, onto the
old road. Continue along the left side of the river, then turn right at the first
bridge that crosses. Immediately on the other side, make right turn and continue uphill
on a smaller road. Follow this uphill to a flat section near the uppermost house.
In winter (as well as possibly in summer?) this is a good place to park.

Route:
Continue along the forest road. This road climbs steadily with several curves.
At a small local hilltop, location N60.37911, E005.77470, elevation about 310 meter,
a signed trail (the sign says Kampen) forks left. Follow this trail a short
distance uphill, you will arrive at
two small buildings serving a tall
antenna mast. This location is at N60.38023, E005.77519, elevation about 355 meter.
A sign pointing left leads to a viewpoint. However, the actual highest point is
located about 170 meter to the north-east. Follow the trail around the buildings and
across a fairly flat terrain. Leave the trail and ascend the small ridge on
your right. There are actually two spots of essentially similar height, the highest
point on this small local ridge and the top of an "egg-shaped" rock. The distance between
the two points is only a couple of meter.
Comments:
The weather looked pretty bad, but I decided to get some fresh air.
I started hiking around 1335, arrived at the summit after about 30 minutes
at 1405. A short break as I also investigated a rocky hilltop nearby, but
concluded that this was lower. I was back at my car at 1435.
