Comments:
I arrived at the trailhead shortly after 1400. The trail had some icy sections that
needed a bypass. On ascent, I went slightly more directly uphill. Overall, it would
have been better to stay closer to the summer route. I needed to cross some
area with the bush called "Einer". In Bergen,
this is called Brake, (pronounced "bra-ke"), perhaps more appropriate
for English speakers, as it really "brakes" your progress.
I arrived on top after about 55 minutes, including some bushwack. I had left the summer route due to ice that I could
not walk on. As it turned out, this was not a smart move, following the trail more closely would have been better.
The upper part was steepish with
slippery snow. Crampons would have been useful, but trail runners with studs did
the job.
A very nice view with the last rays of sunshine.
Ulvanosa very visible, but also
many closer summits with the fjord
completing the picture. I left after 10 minutes, knowing that the drive back home would take many hours.
The descent, following the trail, took about 45 minutes.
