How to get there:
From Bergen, drive to Gjermundshamn, take the ferry across the Hardanger fjord.
Drive south, passing the village Rosendal, continue to Omvik, tun left on Hwy. 5024
serving Matre and Åkra and drive down to the fjord and Matre.
Fork left at location N59.82705, E5.99292. Drive uphill and find
parking on the left next to an old building at location N59.82555, E6.01228, elevation
near 295 meter.
Route description:
Walk back down the road about 100 meter and turn left onto an old, nice
farm road. Follow this until ït ends near a power mast, elevation near 590 meter.
Continue east of lake Vadtjørnane, then south-east in order to descend to the
north-west side of lake Steinsvatnet. Continue south, then turn more west to reach the saddle
between Sundsfjell and Håfjell. From here,
easy to the summit. The summit is located about
125 meter south-east of the cairn. However,
the cairn location is the better viewpoint.

Comments:
I did this hike with my friends Harald and Kjell.
We started from my place in Bergen at 0715 and made the 0900 ferry with
a good margin. Ready to hike by 1010.
We first went to Hillesdalsfjell, the across
to Håfjell. We arrived at Håfjell
around 1310. Nice view of Matersfjorden
and Ulvanosa. We left at 1325 and took a more direct route back to the car, arriving
shortly after 1530.
