How to get there:
I used the access road from the north starting N59.70187, E5.83019. This is a private
forest road. When we were there, there was no signs posted indicating that one could
not drive until location N59.68883, E5.83798, elevation near 310 meter. Here a posted
sign closed the road for motor vehicles. We parked just before this sign, making this
location our trailhead. However, when we drove back out, we met a local that claimed
that the owner did not want any unauthorized traffic. Hopefully, he will improve
the situation by posting a clear sign near the beginning of the road. This road would
still be a nice place to start even if one must park down where the road forks off.
Alternatively, one should ask for permission to drive, this might perhaps be easier before
the hjortejakt (season for deer hunting) starts, since this was the single issue
of concern when we spoke to the local person.
Route description:
We visited 3 summits making a loop hike. Many faint trails made by deers, the ascent on
the summit Børkjenesnuten had a small trail partially marked by cairns. One should
consult with the track posted on Peakbagger.
Comments:
I did this hike with my friend Kjell. We visited 3 summits, first Sauanuten, then
Børkjenesnuten, finally Gaddanuten,
before returning to the car. This loop
took about 4:30 hours including several stops.
