How to get there:
This peak is most often climbed by guests staying
at the The Vagar Countryhouse.
There is a nice trail circling the hill, also visiting the high point.
This access requires that you stay at the Vagar.
Public access is most likely by going up the road starting
at location N40.34478, W7.34867. It is even possible that
one can drive at least almost to the summit from this direction, a 4WD preferable.
See here For a quick summary of the peaks climbed on this trip.
Route:
There is a nice, marked dirt road closed to general traffic, that loops around this hill
fairly high up. The round-trip hike is about 7 kilometer.
The summit is marked by a concrete pillar.
To access this highest point requires a little
scramble, YDS class 3.
There is also a viewing platform on
the summit as well as
some communication antennas.
Comments:
Heidi had made this hike the day before
while I visited Torre.
We left shortly after breakfast
and enjoyed the nice walk.
There are interesting rock formations
on this hill. Also, pretty good view across to Torre
as well as Gardunha to the south.
