How to get there:
This mountain is located next to the small community Trysil in th east part of southern Norway. Access is typically from Hwy. E-6, first to Elverum, then onwards to Trysil. Drive the access road followed by a toll road (NOK 70 in 2025) to the highest parking near location N61.30138, E12.19427, elevation near 810 meter. This is the trailheaad.
Route description:
Follow blue/red marks (paint) to the summit. Note that I followed ski area access roads and thus deviated from the route. My downhill track followed the route, see Peakbagger.
A track is posted on Peakbagger.
Comments:
I was travelling from my mountain house near Lillehammer. I had hoped to pay a visit to my grandchild, perhaps Friday or Saturday, but this did not work out. Thus, I decided to stay with my sister on Thursday evening, then proceed west on Friday.
I did the normal preparations for winter at my place, then left around 1000. The drive across to Trysil was straightforward and good parking available near the upper end of the road.
It took me about 35 minutes to get to the summit, I followed the service road for the alpine skiing area and failed to notice the blue/red marked route to the summit. This did, however, not cause any substantial delay. The summit was engulfed in fog, so not much visibility. I next followed the proper route back down. Getting below the clouds, I got a good view of the mountain village. This destination is obviously popular within a reasonable distance from Oslo. This south slope has more than 1000 vacation homes.
