How to get there:
This peak is an easy walk from Hwy. 7. when crossing the Hardangervidda
mountain plateau. Good parking on the north side of the road next to
lake Skiftessjøen, location N60.37734, E007.56529, elevation 1238 meter.
This is about 3.7 kilometer after the tourist hut Dyranut if you drive from the
west side.
Route description:
You will see the mountain to the south-west. The distance is about 1.6 kilometer.
Easy terrain, but no trail. A pretty large cairn and good views to
Hallingskarvet as
well as to the Hardangerjøkul glacier.
A GPX track of our descent is posted on Peakbagger.
Comments:
I was driving from my mountain hut near Lillehammer to Bergen.
A good way to break the long drive and stretch legs. The ascent
took about 30 minutes. There were still some large patches of snow,
but they were easy to walk on.
