How to get there:
A good trailhead is the parking at Maurset Landhandel, location N60.41085, E7.32638, elevation
near 775 meter. This is on the south side of Hwy. 7 about 5 kilometer after the famous Vøringsfossen
waterfall when going east.
Route description:
Cross the road and walk about 175 meter (east) along the small road going peallel to the main highway.
Follow the dirt road that begins more steeply uphill. At the end of this road, continue uphill along a much
smaller, vague trail. This trail will merge and become a more major trail slightly higher up.
You will see the mountain
and the summit area higher up on your left as you do this climb.
Follow this
trail to a signed trail fork. Continue in the obvious direction 1.3 kilometer to the summit.
There is a trail sign
on the summit plateau. However, a big boulder nearby may actually be the
highest point.

Heidi and I were driving from Oslo. The weather was just perfect and we decided to make a break
near the famous Vøringsfossen waterfall. Heidi would make a walk towards this waterfall and
collect "sticks" (stolper) along the way. I would climb this peak, then drive the car to the
main Vøringsfossen parking area and meet Heidi there.
I first charged our car about 10+ minutes while changing into hiking clothes. Next, I hiked up to the
summit in about 55 minutes. The very beginning was not good, see my track descending. After a short break
I descended back down in about 30 minutes.
Heidi walked about 9 kilometer and collected 20 sticks, while I
did around 6, however I had slightly more vertical gain.
We next completed our travel back to Bergen arriving home shortly before 2000.
