How to get there:
First, drive to the small town named Castelo Novo. This charming
little town is located at N40.0777, W7.49407. If you find your way through
very narrow streets to the upper end of this village, the hardest part is done.
Continue to navigate along a pretty good dirt road until you
reach location N40.06648, W7.51329. The road may be driven by ordinary cars.
From this waypoint, a paved road heads uphill and serves the summit.
See here For a quick summary of the peaks climbed on this trip.
Route description:
From the end of the road,
follow a small path to the huge summit marker, this is a one
minute walk to bypass the fenced in antenna.
Comments:
I noted from a trip report by Rob W. that an asphalt road served the summit. However,
a dirt road (but a smooth and good one!) must be driven from the small town of
Castelo Novo to the location from where the final asphalt road begins.
I had visited Torre earlier in the day, this final
summit turned out to be easier than expected since I succeeded in finding the proper
summit road.
