How to get there:
The forest road starts in Tufsingedal at location N62.30340, E11.71705, you turn left is
coming from the north (Os) on Hwy. 28. The road is a toll road, NOK 100. (in 2026) pay by VIPPS.
Drive this road to location N62.33115, E11.73468, where a rather small, unsigned forest road
forks right. This road is actually pretty good and may be driven by ordinary cars. Continue
until you cross a small bridge and see a yellow house up front. Find parking off the road.
This is near location N62.33760, E11.74265, elevation about 720 meter.
Route description:
The house has a large pack of sled dogs, they may make noise, but are safely within a fence.
Continue uphill on the right hand side of this fence and head straight for the summit. Higher up, when
out in open terrain, you see the mountain up front.
Do not ascend this slope as the summit is
located far behind, but hike close, just on the right (south) side.
There is a small building located
close to the highest point.
A track is posted on Peakbagger. Comments:
I was on my way to Lillehammer (due there the next morning), after a very nice visit with
my friend Jostein and a superb ascent of Storsomrungsnebba the
day before. My plan was to visit 2 summits on my way to Lillehammer this Monday.
Flenskampan was my second target and I had already made a brief stop at the DNT hut Narjordet where
I would stay until Tuesday morning. It would be an early evening ascent.
The time was around 1800 when I left my car. A nice way to end the day, I walked straight towards
the mountain and started ascending the slope thinking that this would work. However, a glance at the
map would have told me to stay low since the summit is sort of separate from this first peak and located
behind. Thus, my return track is recommended.
I traversed around this first peak and next ascended a small hump (1213 m) having an impressive cairn.
Then finally to the summit, arriving about 10 minutes after 2000. A big, pretty flat area having several
cairns as well as a small building, but no mark at the highest point.
I left after a brief stop and headed back down, this time on a better and more direct line towards
my trailhead. Back around 2130, a nice early evening climb.
